RWTS 300 - RUCKUS Wireless Troubleshooting

Purpose:
This course prepares users to troubleshoot and resolve common issues in wireless environments. We will focus on utilizing common third-party tools as well as RUCKUS products to aid in the identification and resolution of wireless problems.

2 Hours

Course Objectives:
After completing this course, attendees should be able to:

  • Utilize troubleshooting best practices and processes
  • Differentiate between Wi-Fi issues and issues with network services
  • Use tools to identify and analyze RF, WLANs and their performance
  • Identify issues with SmartZone controller communications
  • Troubleshoot power over ethernet (PoE) issues
  • Identify and resolve Layer 1 issues such as RF interference and coverage gaps
  • Manage Rogue devices
  • Identify, Resolve and monitor issues caused by Layer 2 retransmissions
  • Address roaming issues for aggressive or sticky clients
  • Identify common authentication problems and misconfigurations
  • Use RUCKUS products to validate authentication services as well as client connections
  • Identify firewall policies applied to WLANs and users
  • Troubleshoot common VLAN misconfigurations on switches and APs
  • Understand common DHCP and DNS issues

Prerequisites to consider for this course include:

  • RUCKUS Wireless Fundamentals (RWF100)
  • RUCKUS Associate SmartZone Administrator (RASZA200)
  • RUCKUS Wireless Design (RWD200)
